Interesting Sighting Details of the Lake Worth Monster
Several Cryptids exist in different parts of the world, one of which has been sighted in North America, particularly in Lake Worth, Texas. It was in the year 1969 when this North American Cryptid was first seen. Several eye witnesses reported to have seen a large hairy creature in the lake. It was said to be about 6 feet tall, with white hair and carried a very strong and disgusting smell. But such reports of a "monster" had been considered by authorities as merely hoax or practical jokes.
One summer midnight, the Reichart's, and two other couples, had encountered the creature. They immediately rushed to the nearest police station, and sought out the help of the officers. The police force accompanied the people to the lake to investigate such a very strange and quite unbelievable event.
Mr. and Mrs. John Reichart, along with the other witnesses, drove back to the lake to lead the police force to the area. As the first car reached the edge of the Lake Worth, a gigantic beast terrifyingly jumped out of nowhere unto the car of the Reichart’s. They said that the creature had both scales and fur and resembled a cross between a man and a goat.
The police cars that followed the witnesses’ car found nothing when they arrived at the scene. However, they saw a scratch at the side of the victims’ car, which was approximately 18 inches and appeared to be caused by the beast’s claws. This very frightening and aggressive attack made the authorities take the case much more seriously.
The Fort Worth Star Telegram made a front page story about the incident, and had it titled "Fishy Man-Goat Terrifies Couples Parked at Lake Worth." This prompted more and more people to go to the lake in the hopes that they will also have the chance to see the creature for themselves.
Yet on another day, a person called the police, claiming that they had seen the creature in Lake Worth. Within moments, the police force arrived but they found nothing during their inspection. The officers first thought that the people were playing practical jokes until they were able to join a group of about forty or so people gathered as they watched the beast run up and down a nearby hill.
As some individuals tried to approach the monster, it howled and threw a car tire at the crowd and rushed through some clearings next to a wooded area. The police ran after the creature and were able to shoot at it before it disappeared.
Trails of blood and sixteen-inch footprints were found but only one photograph of the beast was taken. People who believe of its existence classified the “Lake Worth Monster” as an extinct mammal species.
